same here.... when people ask for quest or town and 1 second later everyone is calling him a noob... i always (try to) answer them and tell them "to repay the favor some day" this helps remember that someone helped me so i should do the same one day....

oh ya like to add ..... i was in LA and Dorknar forge asking around for a 10% furious mod for a sword... so after a few post i thought i put a price after my "WTB blah blah blah" 1 person tells me that a 10% is xxk then someone else tells me "noob". So then i tell him "well thanks for calling me a noob and not helping learn how to trade or to say (like the other guy) tell me the real asking price.

but i got a 10% from one of them crazy asian ( i think there asian) can't beat there prices

A few weeks ago I had somebody whisper me out of the blue, saying that they had x consecutive wins (x large) and are needing an experienced Shock Axe Warrior, pronto. That experienced Shock Axe Warrior would be me, he said. Thanks, but no thanks - I've never PvPed before in my life, let alone know what a Shock Axe Warrior is.

To this day, I still have no idea who the heck that was.

I used to spend my time running people for tips to TOA, (I just now decided to continue playing the game, I'm only at Iron Mines) I run for tips because I find that the people are usually nicer, although I do get plenty that just leave as soon as we get there. On many occasions people would tip me over 1k, mind you TOA is a 250g run in my opinion. And my highest tipper was around 3k. I know it's not that big a deal, (3k is like pocket change in this game) but the fact that even though they know they can pay less with people that demand money, they choose to tip us tipper higher.
I just wish I could remember the guy's name.

I was in the Fort Rurik mission outpost on my low level Ranger/Warrior, and some high level players comes in and asks "Any hammer-using Warriors here that can answer a question?"
So I kindly send him a message, "What's your question?"
To which he responds, "You use hammers?"
Which I thought was a weird thing to say, considerring my knowledge of the hammer skills was not dependant on whether I actually used hammers on that characters (as it turns out I WAS using a hammer at the time) so I just answerred yes.

Next thing I know, he's putting a hammer into the trade window:
Malinon's Skull Crusher
http://gw.gamewikis.org/wiki/Malinon%27s_Skull_Crusher

And he offers it to me, absolutely free! I was shocked by his generosity! I accepted the offer and let him know how grateful I was.

When I was still a lower level elementalist I was looking for a group in a town somewhere and this level 20 invited me and asked to see my weapon.. after which he traded me a energy +12 fire artifact without even asking for anything. That has to be the nicest thing someone has done for me on GW. And I didn't even ask. I've tried to pass it on but it seems that so many people playing already have other characters with good low level items. Oh well. Thanks whoever you were!

Hmm, I'm not quite sure what you are trying to say here. If you are saying that most people would have given the money back, then I disagree with you. I think that its very rare to find someone who would give the money back especially when it was the buyer's mistake. This certainly qualifies for one of the nicest things someone has done for them in the game.

I decided that we need to catch up to the jerk thread, so..

Yesterday I was in a 5 man SF and we were pinging our weapons, mine was Morgriff's scepter and a grimm cesta, then the other necro opened up a trade and gave me the shadestone, saying I should have the complete set.

How neat! Too bad there isn't a full set bonus =D

Well uh..something nice to happen to me recently...

Oooh! A warrior didn't go all 'Leeroy' on us in Thunderhead Keep last night upon request. I suppose that's nice.

Well i dont mean to be a showoff or anything...

but....recently my RL friend accidentally sold his FoW Pants, 8 ectos, full 55monk set and some rares to the merchant when he lagged, was soooo pissed.

I had 56 or so ectos at that time, and i figured he needed them more than me, so i spammed him to take 30 of them and all my ( 26 ) shards. So Meh.

Whatever, Friendships > GW Items imo =)

My friend gave me 100k+12 ectos when he quit, I suppose that was nice
I've also had a few runners go from Ascalon to droks, then zone up to beacons, go to ToA, then sanctum, then all the desert places, and actually rune elona's, all on tips, needless to say, I gave a nice hefty tip. Tip/Free runners always make more when they run me, it's how I work, generosity deserves reward Not charging is generous, so I usually pay more than the average charged run

I run people for free alot, all over the place, for two reasons; 1; it's nice, duh; 2; there's absolutely no chance of being scammed, and every once in awhile you run into someone that gives nice tips

Nicest thing eh...

My friend, who had Gw far longer than me, has run all of my characters from Asc->Sanctum->Desert and payed for all runs the first time through. That may not seem like a lot, but thats a lot when you factor in money for running through missions, Droks, etc. That doesn't also include the hours of time spent running, power-leveling, doing missions, capping skills, etc etc.

So, where were you when you started playing the game? Sitting in Droks with all your elites capped already?

Ahh all the nice people Ive met and helped on here

When I first started on 2 occassions 2 random ppl gave me items for free I have one on my f list still and the other sadly doesnt play anymore D:

My guildmates from a former guild paid for all my armor and even loaned me the money to create a 55 monk

A couple guildmates of mine once said hey this guy is nice he does free runs. Well one day I was at Elona and he showed up and I talked to him and told him he had ran a couple of guildies of mine and he told me if ever I needed a run or a guildie to let him know and he will not accept money. Because of that I do free runs as well and have met many nice people on these runs

on my first character someone gave me a decent bow after we did fort ranik together. It turns out it really wasn't that great, but it was 1 damage off from max and was the best bow i put my hands on at the time.

on my second character after i got out of presearing i asked if someone could help me with 1 quest...turns out they were bored so they ended up helping me for over 5 hours...needless to say i was very gracious and when i tried giving him 5k (which was most of my money at the time), he canceled the trade and said it wasn't necessary...
